God gave Jesus authority over heaven and earth. On the basis of that
authority, Jesus told his disciples to make more disciples as they preached,
baptised and taught. With this same authority Jesus still commands us to tell
others the Good News. When someone is dying or leaving us, their last
words are very important. Jesus left these instructions: baptise and teach
these new disciples to obey Christ and Christ would be with them always.
We are not all evangelists however we have all received gifts from God that
we can use to help fulfil the great commission. As we obey, we have great
comfort in the knowledge that Jesus is always with us.
Jesus’s words affirm the Trinity, it comes directly from the mouth of Jesus.
Baptise them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus continues to be in every heart, in every person through his spirit,
it is right to make him king in our personal lives.
